What about the Harriers at RNAS Culdrose that were/are used for carrier jet handling training I presume they are still active ? I know up until last year they were.

There are at least 2 ground running/taxyable Harriers in britain, plus one that is a potential flyer.

Perhaps I am missing something, but I can’t see anywhere that returning it to flight was even mentioned?
No obstacle to ground running as far as I am aware; and there are plenty of ground running only aircraft which nonetheless have been put on the register and have a civilian registration allotted to them.
People jumping to conclusions and making it up as they go along perhaps?
It’s good to see one being kept in working order, and if ever one were to be allowed to fly again, I would be very happy to see it. Not going to hold my breath though!

You can’t be thinking of me PS – I’m a realist. I have some knowledge on the subject as I’ve worked on Harrier’s and dealt with the CAA as an airline manager.
Not only will the CAA have to be onboard with returning these ‘complex’ aircraft to the skies, the OEMs will have to be onboard; BAe, RR, Dowty, Martin Baker, et al. Additionally there will be a requirement for several sackfuls of money to restore and then operate them.

There are a number of knee-jerk naysayers here who opine on subjects of which they seem to have little knowledge.
There have been extensive and very encouraging discussions with the CAA, and the prospect of Sea Harriers returning to flight in UK skies is very much ‘live’.

Yes it’s possible, there’s 2 Harriers on the G-reg already.

I guess the simple answer is – no chance.

Would that be allowed on the UK register ? . You would need some very deep pockets.
