I just read on the Avi-8 forum that the Shuttleworth Sea Hurricane has had its tail damaged in an accident.
Apparently, she lost her tailwheel assembly on landing. The damage might look not to great on the outside, but who knows what’s been done to her tailwheel mount! 🙁
(PS – borrowed this pic from the chap’s page – hope he doesn’t mind!)

Where’s the one that fell off?

Yes, I know it seems like a long time – but I get the impression that they’ve got their hands full with just normal maintenance on the other aircraft, and they’ve only got a couple of shows left this year. I would imagine it will be left until them.
I know that it would probably be a weekend’s work, if an overhauled tailwheel unit was available….

Apparently the damage isn’t too severe – from what I saw it’s confined to the tailwheel oleo and the surrounding fairings. I would expect that next season will be no problem for them!
