Seafire 1b and 'Hooked' Spitfire Vb

Was reading about these two models earlier, and wondered are the ‘Hooked’ Spitfires considered to be Seafire 1b’s or are they a seperate hybrid version?

The article on BL628 in one of this months magazine’s got me interested, as it was one of the ‘Hooked’ Spitfires. Although she looks wonderful today, would have been unique to see her restored with the hook in place. Especially as there are no Seafire 1b’s know to exist, unless someone knows better?

Are there any photo’s of BL628 with her hook?

Thanks. 🙂

Not 100% sure but I think the early hooked Spits are classified as the MI Seafires. The only one flying today is the ex Crossier,Avspecs one and it has been converted back to a straight MkV.
