There are unconfirmed rumours on the Grace Spitfire Facebook page that Seafire mkiii flew today, congratulations in order if that is the case.

Evokes emotions similar to that when the Shuttleworth Sea Hurricane took to the air. An unbelievably attractive paint scheme.

The Grace family are not the owners, they are the current operators. The ownership remains unchanged.

Thanks piston, she certainly takes lovely photos.

I think it looks beautiful, with such an interesting scheme. Has the hook the ability to extend AND retract in flight?? Are the Grace Family the owners? Thanks for sharing the links to the images Mark 12.
K5054NZ, the lens woman (Daisy) is closely connected with the Graces if I remember correctly.

An air to air photo sortie with the Shuttleworth Sea Hurricane would be special .

Yes it does. It’s good old mandraulic.

Does it have the ability to wing fold?

Thanks for pointing that out, Mark12 – a lovely pair of photos. Well done to the pilots and lensman(woman?). Now I’m even more jealous of those attending the show.

Must say I scoffed when this appeared on the Legends participation page. Well done to all concerned for finally getting it in the air so I can eat my hat! Looks pretty gorgeous 🙂

It really is wonderful news, although I’m in the wrong part of the world to appreciate it in person. Bring on Legends (coverage)! And well done to everyone involved, this is a stunning machine.

First flight for a restored Seafire – that makes four flyable worldwide!

Lets hope there are no snags or paper work issues and she makes it to Legends.

Working on Bentwaters Parks has some advantages. I was lucky enough to witness ML407 and the Seafire taking off in short order on Wednesday afternoon and a further flight yesterday from the Seafire, the noise was fantastic. Due to restrictions here the rest takes place at high altitude or away from the local villages so I’m not going to get a sneak preview of the Flying Legends display!
Unfortunately photos aren’t easy as I’m behind a chain link fence on the wrong side of the airfield.
Well done to all involved.
