Seafire SX300

One of the two saved by Peter Arnold is now flying, what is happening to the other one, SX300?

Resting or under restoration?

Cheers

Cees

Thanks Mark,

I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy.
Perhaps I should stick to Halifaxes solely? :p

So what was SX330 then?

A typographical error.

Ahh… Time to edit the thread title and first post Cees?

I think you will need the assistance of a moderator there.

Its news to me that SX330 is a survivor. Have you not got it muddled up with SX300, ‘sister’ to the recently restored SX336?

Seafire XVII serials ran SX271 – SX316 and then restarted at SX332 – SX370. No SX330.

Oh,the excitement. Time for a lie down.

Does anyone worry about all those little neurones which spend there entire existence retaining this sort of stuff? 😀

We are all normal, well adjusted people. Ummm.

It (SX300) certainly is Mark – but where does the subject of the thread, SX330 come in?

SX300 – That’ll be G-CDTM.

Survivor by the standards of today.

I thought a Mk V project was destroyed by fire in his workshop.

Cees

Mk V:- No original material from the monococque lost.

Mk XVII:- Still pining for fjords and in the overall way of things not seriously different now from the first pre recovery fire fighting burning at RNAS Stretton. It was pretty rough to start with and it had been stripped of most components post recovery.

SX300 as recovered in 1973 – nearest camera.

Its not dead………..

It is not dead… he is just resting
AkA the famous Monty Python Dead Spitfire sketch

http://www.mtholyoke.edu/~ebarnes/python/dead-parrot.htm

would have been better…

“Owner: No no he’s not dead, he’s, he’s restin’! Remarkable bird, the Seafire Blue, idn’it, ay? Beautiful plumage! “

Injured and still resting.

Mark

Nearer to deceased than injured – it was cremated!
