Seafire update

😀 Great news. The planets have come into alignment just in time and a full permit has been issued to SX336/G-KASX. Consequently, she will be debut at Shuttleworth as planned on Sunday. Could be interesting 😉

Definitely can’t make it I’m afraid. I’m booked as a taxi driver, though do hope to see something with wings whilst I’m there!

That’s IT! I have kicked Biggin Hill into touch for Sunday and am diverting to OW!
Lee, Stringbag et all, how about a meet up?

Not entirely sure I’ll be able to make it yet. Perhaps PM me your mobile number in case I do make it?

Was it fresh or salt water?

It was in salt water just off Burntisland in Fife. If you cleared some of the silt off the wings you could still make out the markings on it. There’s a Hurricane nearby too but I didn’t dive that one as I was told there is very little to see.

15 + a couple that may surface in the future according to my notes

I dived the wreck of a Seafire when I was working in Scotland a couple of years ago. It looked still in one piece but the wings very silted up.

First-footing in style eh?

Ah, had just worked through the earlier cryptic post and come to the same conclusion…. 😉

Now, can I re-arrange my plans for this Sunday and get up to OW instead 🙁

And currnetly there’s a reasonably good weather forecast too, unlike “Ducks”ford’s last show!

Never apologise for showing a Seahawk piccie. It will look even better on Sunday in formation with the Sea Fury, Sea Hurricane and the Seafire.

More great shots Lee. Shame about the two old farts masking the tailwheel 😉

No, it was originally going to be Phil Shaw but he has had to pull out. The man flying SX336 in my shots is the man who flew me to North Weald, and the same man who flew her again today – John Beattie. He will be flying the aircraft at Old Warden on Sunday……possibly with one OW resident and two others that may possibly be linked with him….. 😉

Thanks Lee.

I really did enjoy Phil Shaw’s Harvard display at Dunsfold last year.

And like Stringbag, I’ve enjoyed John Beattie’s displays in the Skyraider at OW and Legends. 😀 I have them on Video – just haven’t got round to editing them for upload yet. 😮

Hopefully after Sunday, I’ll have the Seafire to add to the list! 🙂

Cheers

Great news, his displays in the Skyraider are awesome. Wow.
Hopefully JB and Phil will get to share the two aeroplanes over the season.
