Seafury and Seahawk fly

This just in from Lee Howard:-

“Just to let you know that the Royal Navy Historic Flight here at Yeovilton have, for once, had some luck on their side this week. On Monday Sea Fury FB.11 VR930 made its first flight since having its Bristol Centaurus engine completely rebuilt by Ricardo Engineering at Shoreham. The aircraft, in the hands of Cdr Dave MacKay, flew for 1 hr 20 mins and flew several times yesterday in preparation for a planned low-key display at this weekend’s Yeovilton Air Day.

Not content with that, at 15.30 this afternoon Sea Hawk FGA.6 WV908 took to the skies again for the first time since being grounded in 1997. Lt Cdr Russ Eatwell, on his first flight on type, flew the aircraft in beautiful weather conditions for just under an hour and this too is hoped to make a limited display this weekend.”

I suppose there’s not any chance that someone here might have got a bit of either’s flight in jpeg form for us to have look at ??? 🙂

Thats excellent news.

Lets hope both aircraft have plenty of full and safe airshow seasons in the years to come.
