Seahawk (?) at Dunsfold

Did anybody see what looked like a Seahawk with it’s wings folded at Dunsfold on Top Gear last night? Presumably it was earlier in the year and they were catching up with their road-test films but which one was it?

If you want a closer look at the Seahawk and Sea Harrier, they will be on public view at Dunsfold on the 16th May.

As an aside, when my father was on a Sea Hawk engineering course at Dunsfold in the early 50’s, he remembered this magnificent beast, the Napier-Railton Special, tearing up and down the runway when it was being used as a parachute test rig. That must’ve been some sight.

The Napier-Railton is now owned by and on display at Brooklands Museum. It appears at various events, most recently at the Goodwood Revival in September, when it was ‘chased’ around the circuit by Vickers Vimy NX7IMY. That wonderful aircraft has now been retired to Brooklands and also on view there.
