An article in today’s Sun claims that we still have Phantoms protecting the Falkland Islands. I bet this is where all our Tonka f.3s,Harriers, Nimrods, etc etc really have gone to, and it’s all just a cover up by the Government:D

Fools.
The best thing we can do with the Argentinians is just – ignore them. It’s still a third-rate tin-pot dictatorship with politicians who are so bereft of inspiration that they have to use the most humiliating episode in their history to stir-up public engagement. Wasn’t there an old adage about being quiet, but carrying a BIG stick….

War hero Weston: ‘Actor Sean is living, breathing proof that just because you are famous doesn’t mean you know what you are talking about. He is a fool’
Simon Weston’s reply at http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4132896/Falklands-war-hero-slams-poison-Penn.html
from which comes this quote: “Penn is an idiot. It’s bad for people to think you’re a fool. You don’t need to open your mouth to prove it. By opening his mouth on this, Sean Penn proves he IS a fool.”
Unlike Mr. Penn, Simon Weston knows that he is talking about – seeing as he was there

Americas answer to Bono…

I rather like the fact that somebody seems to have cut up the Argentinian flag and has thrown it all over the President. Highly appropriate.

Please – no more USA/UK angst. Both countries have their fair share of brilliance and ignorance and that goes for every nation on earth.
By: J Boyle - 16th February 2012 at 17:46
Unfortunately for the US the opinions of Oliver Stone, Michael Moore and which ever newspaper it was that caused you such angst are shown to be accurate by cold hard fact.
In your opinion…:)

Absolutely agree with you on the subject of “artists” and any opinions they may hold J B.

Now you know how some of us feel when various UK pop stars, actors and wannabes give their opinions of US politics.
Or when you encourage idiots like Michael Moore and Oliver Stone…or when a major UK newspaper ran a headine after the 2004 presidential election:
“How can 200 million people be so Stupid”.

Sean Penn’s idiotic comments remind me of a U2 concert some years ago, when the lord almighty ‘BONO’ stopped playing in the middle of the show and began methodicaly clapping his hands above his head and saying…”every time I clap my hands, a baby dies in Africa”…. a wag from the audience shouted back..‘well stop f…… clapping then’ !
Self centred Celebs…who’d have ’em ?

Seen on the reader’s comments section of The Telegraph website:
“Anagram – Sean Penn Actor/ A parent’s nonce”
Quite like that, but Mods pls feel free to delete if this oversteps the mark.

I can heartily recommend ‘Team America’ 😉

Thing is he is American he is an “actor” he thinks he has the right to speak on issue he knows nothing about, he clearly has not got the dangle danglies to visit the people of the Falklands to speak to them.

Why don’t the Argentinians give Argentina back to the Indians and set us all an example first?
By: Wellington285 - 16th February 2012 at 14:47
[QUOTE=PeterW;1858029]I think Sean Penn has as much right to talk about the Falklands as I have to demand Alaska is given to the Rusians.
What about all of the islands in the Pacific that the US have, Hawaii 2.600 miles from the US for one example. Penn witters on about British colonialism but forgets about American colonialism. Pot and Kettle comes to mind.
