When I lived with my family during II world War on an island called
Öland in the south of Sweden it happened that an allied airplane on floats made a forced landing outside the lighthouse, where my father worked.I have tried to get information about the airplane type and the art of the mission.(prob.an attack-i.g. bomb-mission against german troups in Norway)The pilots( I think they were two ) were taken care of by my uncle and his family.The next day (or the day after) when the repairation ( or the fuel filling) was done, the airplane took off again and headed probably back home to its base. Last winter (2008) I talked to a cousin (79 years old)and she rememberred what had happened. She was 12 years old then. I would appreciate if anybody knows anything about this historic event. Probably during Norway fighting of early 1940. If snyone has a copy of Fledgling Eagles it might be in it. There were a few Royal Navy battleships with float planes on and I can remember a few scouting missions and at least one loss where crew returned to uk in captured ardo
