Second A/C for the french navy confirmed

I just read it on the internet version of the french
magazine l’Express ( http://www.lexpress.fr ).

The second aircraft carrier for the french navy have
been confirmed by president Jacques Chirac today
( september 11 ) under the budget for french military
forces.

It will be operational in 2008 or 2009.

It will be officialy named “Georges-Pompidou”
( a notorious french president )

It will be a second version ( copy ) of the
Charles De Gaulle class of A/C.

More Rafales (from 60) and more Hawkeyes (from 3)
could also be budgeted for the french Aéronavale.
