A Catalina has left Portugal for Australia to become the second flying Catalina down under. N160AT (VH-CAT) was in Greece yesterday but running into problems as they have insufficient funds for fuel for the total journey.:o

The Cat is leaving Semarang, Java today for Bali where it will stay for one day. It is planned to arrive in Darwin late tuesday.

The Cat departed Mumbai at 7.30 this morning on its way to Colombo. Hope it is all downhill from now on.:)

I hope they find a local millionaire in Bahrain who wants to trade an interesting flight to Oz for the cost of fuel!

Whatever the reason they started out without enough funds good luck to them and their Cat, not many of us can get hold of a Catalina, let alone an airworthy one!

Update report, the Cat arrived in Luxor on Wednesday and is today in Bahrain with the possibility of remaining there indefinitely unless finance for fuel is provided. There is a link for contributions on their website.
