Seems to be an endless number of Tv productions re using old clips in slightly different ways, the latest is a stop frame showing with overlaid graphics and a voice over asking which of 3 outcomes happened. Those who are nervous of flying or travelling on roads or on water etc should avoid these programmes which never put the events in context.

I used my ‘nothing’s worth getting twisted up over this’ button – the TV ‘off’ switch.

….works for me.

Then again, how many of us have watched the newsreel footage of the Hindenburg crash, on countless occasions ?

Maybe the Reno accident is still too fresh in the minds ? I believe It depends on how closely you can relate to these incidents.

Seconds from Death sounds like a nice, sensitive and sympathetic title for a TV show. Given that it is on Channel 5, I imagine 50% of the viewing experience will be adverts and recaps anyway.

Showing things like this is pointless, what does the general population learn from it, that vintage planes can be dangerous?
Maybe it does document something historical but that doesn’t make it un-tasteless .

What does the general population learn from car chases round the back streets of Hull or numerous programs that show how and by whom people are murdered by ?

Surely most television is pointless ?

I don’t need to see it. I still remember it very well. Crashing 150 yards from me. Just for a moment it was heading towards me. I knew it was going to be a bad one. First time I have seen most of a Merlin engine bounce across a airfield. I was lucky that day.

It was more angled towards a survivor and his story.

Whether we like it or not these programmes are going to be made, and with Yoo Toob out there things will always be out there to view. But, and only my ten cents worth, not really in great taste to draw attention to it. Watch if you like but no need to do any more.

I imagine there are relatives of people killed in 9/11 who have similar opinions – however I doubt they will ever be spared the sight of the aircraft crashing being repeated.

No intention of watching this. Tasteless in my view.

I think you will find there’s several forum members who were there that day, and have no desire to see the events of that day repeated in slow motion on tv.
