Security Warnings!

Why am I suddenly getting warning messages from Firefox and McAfee for this page?
They are blocking content (McAfee) and preventing being redirected to another page (Firefox). Is anyone else getting these messages?

It’s interesting that the McAfee warning has gone away but not the Firefox one and that this only seems to happen on this site.

I’m using Firefox 7.0.1 and wonder have you got the Pop-up blocker disabled? I don’t have any ad’s as I use Ad-Blocker anyway, but your warning message may be saying it won’t open any pop-up ad coming from any banner adverts used…

I’ve added a screenshot of the tab under “Options” from the “Tools” menu in Firefox to show you what I mean!

No, I’ve tried both options and it makes no difference.

Hi Hunter, the warning shows a redirect not a pop-up warning. 🙂

In the past, some of the ads I used to get hit with (not on this site) were re-directs embedded….

That’s why I asked 😉

I’ve just switched on again and got the Firefox message on the main page – together with the Asia ad.

This is an interesting one, I have encountered no problems with this site ever, but when I went a cruise round Zvezda the Russian equipment and flight clothing site, was warned about Trojans !!!

The problem is finding which ads are causing it. “Asias Aviation Hub” is one suspect.
I’ll just have to ignore it I suppose.

It would be interesting to see what happens if you install AdBlock Plus to your Firefox then get the ads to go away

I’ve had similar warnings from this site in the past.

Sometimes if there is a link to a website that is considered suspect (or even if that site contains some dodgy links), then is can block the page the links are on.

Jim does it happen when you are not signed in or when you are?? Could be something to do with the newer advertisements on here?

It happened every time I was signed in for a couple of weeks or so but it seems to have stopped this morning (!) I’ll send some screen shots if it starts again.
I too think it was connected to the newer adverts.

I spoke too soon! The Firefox warning has just appeared at the top of this page!
“Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page”
If I click the “allow” button all that happens is that the warning disappears.

IE9, AVG Antivirus, and ZoneAlarm.

No problems here.

I’ve got McAfee on this machine (using IE9) and it’s not blocking the forum or telling me it’ a suspect site.

Cheers
