Seeking information on French Aeronavale Corsairs and pilots

Good day everyone, I’m a long time poster on WIX, but new to FlyPast. This past summer Warbird Digest published my story on the eight Corsairs and four surviving pilots that flew on Baa Baa Blacksheep. I’m looking for further information on the two F4U-7s that appeared in the show- BuNo 133693 & 133710. I found some basic and circumstantial evidence that these aircraft saw combat in IndoChina, Suez, and Algeria.

If anyone knows of a source where I can get greater details on their combat careers and most of all any Aeronavale pilots that saw combat in the Corsair, please contact me either through PM or my email: flyboychappie@msn.com.

Cheers,

Regarding the Suez operation: look for a book called “Air War over Suez” by Brian Cull. The book has several photos of French naval aircraft including Corsairs of 14-F and 15-F from the carrier Aromanches. Unfortunately the appendices does not cover the French naval aircraft but if you trawl through the text there are many references to individual aircraft & pilots. There is also a picture of Lt Lancrenon who was shot down by AA fire and killed or subsequenly died. The book is a good read anyway.

Have you tried posting your request for information on http://www.aerostories.org/~aeroforums/forumhist/index.php or other French historic aviation fora? I use the aérostories forum and I know that many of its members have serious, in-depth knowledge of their subjects.
