Seen at Tillamook Air Museum today…….

This aeroplane goes by many identities. F4U-7 133722, NX1337A, Jack Erickson’s Corsair, the Tillamook Air Musem Corsair, but to many of us it will always and forever be “Lindsey’s Corsair”. It used to wear the best paint scheme ever applied to a warbird, and was operated by a lovely man, Lindsey Walton, in the 1980s. Great to see it again, it’s hard to believe it is now 18 years since it left the UK.

YES! Please someone post some images of it in Aeronavale (sp) markings!

One of mine from the late-80s. What a great scheme!

Is it flown regularly. (Google is Verrrrry ponderous where I am)…

It hasn’t flown for quite a number of years, but is apparently due to fly again soon.

Ahh Lindseys F4U-7 Corsair. The first ‘warbird’ both in terms of type and markings that really captivated me as a schoolboy. On occasion i used to see it flying overhead whilst i was biking home from Sawston college.

Very similar sentiments!

SVC was a helluva good place to watch real aeroplanes from! I established my anorak credentials with my peers pretty quickly…..

I always thought Lindsay Walton was a most unlikely looking warbird owner/pilot, and fully fitted the nickname of “The Flying Farmer” – but he had some lovely aircraft!

I always wondered where she ended up.
Fantastic scheme she had over here – that scheme is a little disappointing in comparison – Not my place to comment though as I don’t have one 😉

I went to Tillamook in October 2010.
An amazing building and enjoyed the museum too.

I’m still waiting .

YES! Please someone post some images of it in Aeronavale (sp) markings! I really liked that scheme. Years later I’d go on to work on the TFC Corsair and that’s a good itch to scratch.
