Seen today- odd looking aircraft

Greetings all of you great and all-knowing folk.
This might not be the right place to ask, but you have to start somewhere.
Today an aircraft went over my house (just south of Middlesbrough, on the Yorkshire side of the boundary). It sounded loud and odd so I went out to have a look. It was a piston twin, but with a vertical fin on each end of the horizontal stabiliser. I could not say if there was a central fin as well.

Its colouring was civil rather than military- white or pale.

Does anyone have any idea what it might be or where it was off to?

Thanks

Steve

Thanks everyone. I will go with David Thompsons C-FARA. It definitely was’t a Bronco. Solid fuselage but with a horizontal stabiliser with a fin on each end. For a giggle, the local rag (the gazette) reported that the star of the event was the BBMF with the lancaster flanked by a spitfire and a hurricane. Bless.

It’s a OV-10 Bronco

I had the same thing, looked up to see a jet moving stupidly slowly, looked like a plasticene canberra stretched in all directions. Took a while before a lamp went on in my head and I realised it was a U2.

Thankyou for that. Greatly appreciated.

I didn’t think ANYTHING would have been flying yesterday between some really nasty thunderstorms.

It was Short Skyvan C-FARA bringing the Falcons parachute display team up from Duxford , lots of photos here ;

By strange coincidence OV-10B Bronco G-ONAA also flew up from Duxford to take part in the Skylive/Teesside Airshow .

Certainly several Skyvans about, and at least one in white, though they sound turboprop rather than piston.

Any Flamants in the UK at the mo?

The OV-10 Bronco?

It flew north over me at about 1330hrs (St.Ives) and then back at 1743hrs. Apparently appearing at Skylive Airshow – Durham Tees Valley, UK today.

Or maybe a Cessna Skymaster?
