snafu, just in case you hadn’t noticed, you can get those any day of the year 🙂
Maybe you can, but never noticed until the kids spotted them and they seemed to be (probably) better than other options health-wise (can’t stand them myself). We cycled there, fyi.
Brandy will be fine, Jim!
(It kept Nelson from decomposing al those years ago).
I bet Linc’s brandy has less body, though…;o)

I admire you for admitting it. I bet you feel a weight off your chest for having done so!!;)

I also have a bottle of Bacardi Amber light, 1.4 litre? Bought about the same time, seems that to may be worth something lol.

That’s right. After its 15 – 25 years in the cask that state is completely stable until it is opened.
“The world’s most expensive Cognac hit the shelf at Financial District Wine and Liquor in NYC, retailing at a whopping huge price tag of $156,700. Yes, you read that correctly, that’s one bottle of Cognac for over $150,000. The single harvest 1858 Cognac Croizet, Cuvée Léonie, took the record with the Guinness Book of World Records when a bottle sold at auction in September 2011, officially making the 1858 Croizet Cuvée Léonie the world’s most expensive Cognac.”

Dave, I purchased a bottle of BRANDY on a flight to Greece, over 20 yrs ago, it’s unopened and has been stored in a cool, dry place. It was quite expensive then, about £40.00. I.I.R.C. It has a seal, with a number on it, Wonder, can Brandy “Go Off” with age?, your thread, just reminded me I still had it.

Odd thing though, once out of the cask it does not improve, I have a unopened bottle of Remy Martin champagne cognac in the opaque bottle, it’s a big one too, none standard size and marked bottled for NAAFI, I brought it back as duty free in or about 1978 🙂 35 years old?
Bloody hell, just found this
Remy Martin VSOP Cognac / Bot.1970s
68.2cl / 40%
An old 1970s bottling of Remy Martin VSOP.
£199.00
(£165.83 ex. VAT)

Storeage conditions ideal, Linc but preferably upright not on its side, unlike wine. And you have got another 60 years comfortably, probably more. A bottle from 1770, I think, was drunk a few years ago in London. Enjoy it!!:highly_amused:

Best to drink it soon, though – just to make sure it’s OK. Cheers!!

I’ve drunk Belgian Christmas beer in June and drank Belgian Easter beer in September. I thought hot cross buns were available all the time now?
At least you can still buy hot CROSS buns – I expect the PC mob will soon put a stop to that!
(Perhaps they are available all year round to divert attention from their religious connections?)
Nice when HOT with cheese and jam ( I humbly offer my serving suggestion to the public).
Was your Belgian ‘Christmas’ tipple still within its ‘Best before’ date? I found (and drank!) a basic English ale – it was fine – that was several months past that particular date when we were moving house – around a year ago, and I’m still here.

And?
My kids sat on the beach in August eating hot cross buns. Ok, not hot hot cross buns, but you know what I mean.
snafu, just in case you hadn’t noticed, you can get those any day of the year 🙂 How did you get to the beach, by car?, Still waiting for make and model.
