I have just been on another site that sells watches.
There are some Ex MOD watches, Seiko yellow faced Chrono watches, the seller is stating they are RARE watches, issued to the crews of Vulcan bombers.
Any members know if this information is correct or not?.

[QUOTE=TonyT;1855502]Never wear watches these days, have one of these on link below and another seiko with three dials in white, without the date. Looks similar to the RAF ones.. Both need batteries lol.

Nice watch Tony, however, it’s from the States, having had several purchases ie, Rotary spark plugs from ebay and privately, it’s getting to be a bit expensive. The Postal charges over there are Highway Robbery, even more if you want the item Insured. Then this end the item languishes for ages in Custome waiting for their clearance and charges to be added and then delivery. It’s got to be something very special, prior to making further purchases from the USA.I have seen items, whereby the Postal charges from there exceed the items value!!

Tony. I have had MANY dealings with this Company, (Father and son) and have found them very honest and genuine. The watches are one their site, Trinity Marine. I like watches, but it seemed funny that if they were from the crews of Vulcans, they would have been snapped up. As they realy know their Maritime stuff, I would like a second opinion, on the watches. They do have photos of them, with or without the strap.
Still undecided, the price also seems too good to be true, and if it is…………
well, you know the saying.

Yes the yellow faced one was, there was a thread on pprune about them, are you buying one??
type are frequently referred to as “Pilots” watches when in fact we have been informed
that they are only issued to “fast jet navigators”.. (Tornado Navigators of the RAF).Fitted with Quartz “scratch resistant glass” the “Pilots” watch features a stop watch
together with a rugged and reliable design.
Supplied FULLY SERVICED with 12 months Warranty
Now VERY RARE… taken out of Service August 2005
the RAF Tornado Squadrons now being disbanded.
We also receive the naval version from time to time…for submariners… with Date.. without Luminious points
Sometimes also available as the Yellow Face variety which was a special issue for Vulcan Flight Crew…
but a substantially higher cost. If you would like a “Yellow Face” please email us… we will add you to our waiting list.
NOTE: we have seen only TWO Yellow faced Seiko “Vulcan” watches in the past 5 years…
both were used and were individually sold
in excess of £1000 each !!!
We are reliably informed that a Seiko Vulcan yellow Face fetched over $2600 in eBay USA recently.
If you would like to purchase one of these sought after watches please email us.
