Selling old aviation books

I’m interested to know if anyone using the site has recent experience or general advice on selling old aviation books.

I’ve decided that it’s time to look at downsizing my library and would like to start with The Aero (vol 1-4), and Flight (1911-1920). All were cleaned and rebound about 20 years ago and are in nice condition.

Are there still book dealers who are still interested in such works, or is ‘evilBay’ worth the trouble?

Thank you both. Yes, postage will be a nightmare. As my bookshelves will testify to, bound copies of Flight are not light. I don’t think it would be right to post a list here, but if anyone is interested they can contact me and I will get in touch with them.

Generally selling books on ebay is a PITA – people have to be looking for that specific book as its less easy to browse. Also ebay fees are expensive now, plus most books are heavy to post and people baulk at the cost. Add in the hassle factor you would be best publishing a list in this forum or contacting someone like Simon at The Aviation Bookshop TBH

Hi Oracal. I, perhaps like others on hete, are always interested in aviation books. Might it be worth posting a list of those for sale on here – or is that not allowed?

Cheers, Andrew
