Seperate airshow section?

Darn good idea if you ask me! I like scanning the airshow pics, but there are just soooooo many that some kind of organisation of them is required.

I can’t see how anyone can think that it would make the Forum any less attractive

I would support the setting up of a dedicated airshows forum and the concept of one thread for photos of a show and another for text relating to it. Seems to me to be logical and qould enable the “historic” aviation aspects of this forum to be uncluttered by airshow ephemera which, though newsworthy is forgooten in a week or so. Sic transit gloria mundi………………!!!

As Cees has said its time for a new board for Airshow pics with-in the Historical Board and please Mr. Webby don’t give me the BS Line we don’t want to have another board when over on thr ModMil their are Four cout them folks Four sub-boards.

So please do us all a big favor and make a sub-board here for Airshow Pics. :diablo: 😀

I looked at possibly 2 or 3 RIAT threads but in most cases I didn’t. They were clearly marked. I know a fair number of the photographers that use this board and they know I’m not interested in the modern stuff.

It’s not a major issue no, more of a niggle really. I’ve just expressed an opinion, to I’ll go and hide in the bushes again now! 😀

I admit to being surprised to see the RIAT threads here but there is historic content and, somewhere, it does say airshows for this particular forum.

It does, and that’s the point, why aren’t they in the civil forum for example? They don’t belong there either, so the argument for a seperate airshow section is a vaild one. 😉

I’m not really sure what I think, but a valid point that’s been made previously is the airshow threads go mad immediately after a major airshow, (there’s a surprise) but then tend to fade away fairly quickly.

I’ve been here before too, and I agree totally. I’m tired of seeing pics of modern aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon in “Historic”, though when I said that about the Tornado, the answer I got was that many are in Museums, therefore they’re historic! :confused:

The airshow pictures posted here are great, and it’s good to see pictures of Old Warden and Legends, but it’s time for a specific area (away from historic) for shows such as RIAT. 😉

For those like myself who find it completely uncaptivating there is of course rational debate available in other threads!
