Battle of Britain Day
Lest we should forget . . . . .

in that case we all thought about him and all the others who gave all from that first special generation. My next date will be 21st Sept.1944 a uncle who stayed at Arnhem, aged 20, from a second special generation…
I don’t mention it as this is a aviation forum, my dates therefore remember air events and by remembering them we then also remember the others who served and died each day and night for us… and as I said a nudge is welcomed.
regards,
jack…

15th May 2017: 102 years since great-granddad was killed at the Battle of Aubers Ridge. We all have our remembrances.

no I don’t think I did, i’m not sure, as you get older you have more to remember, but I do welcome the nudge if I do forget I did remember 16th May, also 17th August, 8th May, 15h Aug, and I will be remembering 14th October, God willing…
If you wish to sit and remember quietly by yourself fair do’s, but I believe a spoken name or date brings that person or occasion to life if only for a few mins… and that’s not much to ask.
regards,
jack…

Agree, and a play on words its only a few who do remember…
No – it’s only a few who feel the need to tell people that they’ve remembered.
Did you remember 15th May?

I plan on watching the film tonight. Not that I need help to remember and think of them all. Those still with us should be proud of their efforts. Those not still with us will never be forgotten I hope.

Couldn’t agree more.
