The BBC news just had a piece on the gathering at Northolt today, with a Hurricane and a couple of Spits visible, including the green TR.IX.
Cliff Spink was interviewed, as was Alex Henshaw, who at 93 is absolutely bright as a button – a quite astonishing individual.
Today’s event is reputed to be the last ‘Hurrah’ for the B o B veterans.

Lest we forget indeed.
As I’ve already said, The Few are indeed getting fewer. 🙁
Of the top 15 scoring RAF pilots of the Battle, only one, the erstwhile Bob Doe is the only one of the 15 still with us.
Of the top 15 scoring Luftwaffe pilots of the Battle, well, there are none with us any more now, the last of those top 15 scorers, Gerhard Schopfel, died back in 2003.

The new memorial is unveiled on Sunday. Presumably there will be a flypast?
Always remember them.
mmitch.
Spitfire + Hurricane + Typhoon (pointy-noisy one of course. )

Hi F3Hadlow,
In your Battle of Britain picture tribute many thanks for the picture taken of me and my WW2 RAF Living History chaps by the Hurricane in May of 2005(i think?).
I am the pilot 2nd from the left.
If it were possible could i have a copy of this picture for myself and the group?.
Many thanks
Howard.(‘ OPS 39-45 ‘).

RIP to all those men who fought and died for their country.
I’ve done a few pics which I feel are relevant.
Lest we forget..

I forgot. I was on holiday in France this morning.
In my defence, your honour, I shall tell you all that I was tearing around Boulogne at 7:30 this morning trying to find the grave of Eugene ‘Red’ Tobin, an American in 609 during the Battle, Killed later in the war. I visited two cemeteries, neither were the extremely well hidden one in which he lies sadly. Yet I have been visiting other 609 Squadron Killed during my trip, just to tell them that they are not forgotten.
To you all, you are remembered. And you are appreciated.
