Serial Killing in Ipswich

I’ll support the return of the death penalty when someone can show me a murder victim who came back from the dead on the execution of their murderer, or can demonstrate to me that a miscarriage of justice leading to the taking of an additional innocent life could never happen.

Having said that, life imprisonment should mean life imprisonment – with hard, productive, labour imposed to help defray the cost to the taxpayer.

Absolutely spot on Grey Area, at least if an innocent person was convicted of a murder that he or she did not commit, they would be still alive.

in a way i agree, a quick death is not enough for wierdos like that, they should be made to suffer for there disgusting crimes for the rest of there lives, a old fashoned cell, only having bread and water to live on, and 10 hours of hard labour 7 days a week.

Its not a case of if this person or persons are caught its a matter of when. The use of DNA profiling and modern day forensic techniques used today, close down on a person who makes mistakes, usually used in frenzied attacks.
They will be arrested ,treat with the utmost respect and sent to trial in an unbiased court of law. Sentenced to multiple life sentences with no chance for parole ,but a right to appeal.This is a right given to us all, and to readily snuff a life out on the evidence submitted at that time ,i think is wrong.

This thread is probably not the best place to have this debate so i hope i do not offend anyone by writing it here.
To be honest i do not think execution really is the answer, Its seems not to have solved a lot in the states of the USA that use it, And the idea of “A for a Eye” a “Life for a life” does not really sit well with me as killing a killer makes society as bad as the criminal and who is going to execute the executioner?

What i want to see in this country is criminals repay the society and life really mean life not something like 10 years after good behavour, At the moment the punishment does not fit the crime,controversial idea would maybe to use murderers for drugs testing as their way to repay society, At the moment a criminal costs the country anything that makes them repay society would be a advantage.

It’s always the way, in this soft touch country, the victims always suffer the most, nothing changes does it. No wonder Brits are emigrating , crime is going through the roof. I think it will get a lot worse in the future, and we wont be able to do much about it.

What hasent made the news is that last weekend there were shootings (i believe plural) and a stabbing outside Zest Nightclub in Ipswich!!

I go to Ipswich very regularly as my company has a Event Traffic Management contract there. We were there last weekend when this story was first hitting the light and people were talking about it.

I think Ipswich is a nice place and I hope this doesnt put people off going!

This generally is a very sleepy part of the UK, we don’t want the publicity but sad to say it is here. The whole area is stunned, as is much of the UK. I live about 1 mile from Suffolk Police HQ, the place is heaving with reporters and satellite vans. A friend lives less than a mile from Sundays ‘find’ and his road is still sealed off.

As most have said, condolences to the families, friends and neighbours and thanks for all your thoughts, there definitely is an eerie silence surrounding Ipswich at the moment, but I have every confidence that the perpetrator will be brought to book!:(

Living in East Anglia, we are getting blanket coverage of this on our local news bulletins, presumably the killer is watching all this and taking great delight out of it, not just him, is some sad git going to do a ‘Jack the Ripper’ tape and try to screw up the police investigations.
I live quite a way from Ipswich but who knows where the b##### lives, my missus goes up to her lonely remote stables every night in the dark to get her horses in, last night I insisted on going with her, mind you, if he tried to tangle with her I’d probably find him hanging from the village Xmas tree with bits missing off him, bless.

It’s a terrible situation….let’s hope he is caught soon…..i wonder how long before some ghoul makes a movie about it

I agree, these poor women were indeed someone’s daughter, lover, mother (in some cases) and not “just” prostitutes. My condolences with their loved ones and friends.

The first victim in “this batch” was last seen at the end of October. How many more are there as the disappearances cover such a time period and it is only the last three that have happened in the space of a few days/week.

I said “this batch” as it is now thought that a murder 14 years ago is possibly connected. How many more?

How long before people say this shoould not be allowed to happen again? Surely this is the time to legalise prostitution and make it safer for these women (and in some cases no doubt, men) to earn the money in the way they choose?

Not much else I can say, but sure people from all over are thinking of you at this difficult time.

My wife’s sister lives in Ipswich, and as many of you have mentioned, she said the atmosphere in the town has really changed.

However, my wife is still planning a trip there next week to visit her mum in hospital…she won’t be going out alone.

This is totally shocking really i have a friend who has family in Ipswich and he is stunned that this is happening there, To be honest i’m shocked its happening anywhere in the UK.
I must admit its a bit annoying when hear words in the news or people talking saying they just prostitutes, They were somebodies daughter’s, somebodies sister’s and i feel for their families.

What scares me the most is the pace this “animal” has commited such crimes 5 people killed in just 2weeks it seems, Lets pray that there is enough DNA to trace and catch the culprit and that no more families need suffer.

I went through a similar thing in the 70’s with the Yorkshire Ripper, people were really worried about the whole thing……..my mum still says to this day her and my Aunt were followed by him one night when they were coming home from a night out, he struck later that night two streets from where we used to live.
