Hi Everybody in the UK
In an effort to bring mutual trust and cooperation between our great countries I have decided to mount a project to bring to my fellow UK forumites a little gift to those who would like one.
I am no Cecil B Dmille but I took a fair bit of footage at Wanaka this year as well as some other New Zealand locations and here in Brisbane and I have burnt it on to three DVDs and am happy to make copies for those who would like the set.
All you need to do is tell me what model DVD player you have so I get it right for your particular player as recordable media is different from player to player.
The DVDs are
1) Wanaka 2004
2) Wigram, Croyden aircraft Co (NZ) Zuccoli, FlyingFighters and Beaufort restoration Queensland (Australia)
3) Photo DVD of selected Australian Warbirds past and present
As I said this is very amature video but interesting because of what the content is – don’t expect too much from a quality point of view as I shake a bit and my editing is not yet that good.
So feel free to let me know if you want me to bring a copy over for you. Naturally there is no charge
Regards
John P

Hi Alastair
Sounds fantastic to me we will indeed have a go at this – you can help reschool me in my heritage and help me become a proper Scot again !!!
Kindest regards

Naah John – Glenmorangie is just another hyped up export Whisky , probably end up being bought by the Japanese or Saudis. We don’t export the good stuff . There are plenty of smaller distilleries producing some good malts for the blenders to use – these are very distinctive , North east – very peaty , smokey – west coast , a lighter seaweedy taste . My own favourite is Highland Park , an export – but a good one !!!!! , although I also enjoy Talisker and Laphroig .
However in order to prove these points we really should organise a whisky snifting session in a suitable pub in North Berwick 🙂

Alister
Being of Scottish descent I am somewhat disturbed by reports of the pending sale of Glen Morange ( Spelling excused please) – What do you know of this it’s an outrage if a southerner gets it !!!
I am sure we can “do a deal” when I get there- I love Scotland – the trouble you will have is getting me to leave!!
Kindest regards
Looking forward to seeing you all

I’m sure we can arrange some barter / exchange for a decent bottle of malt 😉 . none of the touristy Chivas Regal / Bells / Grouse stuff .

Great, shame you are coming after the air show season but send me a PM when your plans are finalised. Sounds like visits to Duxford and Hendon are on the cards?

Hi Albert
I am scheduled to arrive in the UK on 28 September at 5.00am and I will be there for 3 weeks so there is plenty of time to catch up – I am intending to stay around the Cambridge/london area for the first week so we can work out a meeting soon
Kindest regards

What a wonderfully kind gesture! As I am already scheduled to guide you towards cold beer over here(if I can find any!), I would very much like to see your DVDs. What part are you visiting and when are you coming over?
