Setters Daughter turns 18 -and flies herself for the first time

Hi
Please indulge me here guys

My Daughter turned 18 at the weekend and is in the middle of her final exams at High School – I paid for her flying lessons and she also soloed on Saturday – very proud old Setter here.

I started Claire off very early in Aircraft – At 3 she was sitting in Oscar ducks B25 at Nowra and the same year had her first Tiger Moth flight – She has been to Hendon , Ottowa and many many museums as well as inspecting Col Pays spit whilst it was being constructed – there isn’t much she can’t tell you about Aussie warbirds. For some Fun and to embarrass her here are her earlier exploits as a Warbirder !!

By the way her instructor rates her as well above average as a pilot – Go Girl!!

Kindest regards
John P

We were working on the Tiger today and I was recounting aspects of mine 40+yrs later!!

G’day 🙂

Adrian

She will start studying the pilots notes as soon as her school exams are over and the test pilot gives her the OK – I will have to get some more money to pay for her multi engine Rate but all should be well for a 25 Dec ferry flight if that fails the next date available is April 1

Tigers were early on her list and she seemed to want to get this MiG 17 cranked up too and was a little upset when I wouldn’t take her up in it – something about wanting to use the Gun to get even with her Pre School teacher ……..

Many congratulations Claire. Now all you need is to twist dad’s arm (and wallet) to get solo on a Tiger Moth too!

Congratulations Claire, well done!
I am hoping my 5 year old Girl will follow in a similar vein, as well as airliners she flew in a Squirrel from Nice-Monaco aged 2, and an Air Atlantique Dragon Rapide at 3!
Must do something next year, my son will be 3 so will have to start getting some interesting entries in his log book…

BTW if you want a nice Passenger Log Book, with the owner’s name in Gold Leaf on the front, Aviation World in Toronto, Canada do a nice one that was delivered to the UK within a week for $12.95Cdn, my Wife and Kids each have one!

Congratulations – there is no feeling quite like that first solo, knowing that you have flown an aeroplane yourself. I found that day more satisfying than getting my PPL. Keep going…!!! 😉
