"Sex and Drugs and Rock n Roll" Ian Dury film

saw it yesterday ,brilliant film Andy Serkis is exellent as Dury and sing all the songs in the piece and appears with the original Blockheads on end credits (which i dont normally view but these are well worth looking at) Dury had an interesting and tough life writing some memorable songs along the way ,the film is a bit surreal but well worth a look at ,i hope serkis gets an award for his role he deserves one!

Ian Dury Film

Probably the most important musician and band on the edge of Rock that Britain produced…I was listening to the guitar solo on ‘Clever Trevor’ on R2 yesterday…unbelievably sophisticated playing…I bet several of his tracks are still banned on the BBC….must see the film

I don’t think Ian Dury ever achieved the recognition that he deserved during his lifetime.

It is a small recompense to see him more widely appreciated now.

For me the film is a must-see. I am glad to read a positive review here.
