I have just been told the history of a work colleauge’s Uncle who was an NCO Navigator who was sadly killed on board Wellington LN242, 12 OTU, Chipping Warden, the aircraft coming down at a farm near Lower Boddinton.
This aircraft tragically crashed on the night of 26 Nov 1944, with the loss of all 7 crew & 3 members of an airman’s family who were billited in a wing of the farmhouse, which some of the wreckage hit.
I understand from my colleague that Sgt Isterling trained in Canada, prior to serving back in th UK.
I to appreciate it may be a long shot, but if anyone can please help with any other info, or Photo’s of Sgt Isterling, please PM me,or forward them onto to robin.isterling@hotmail.co.uk
Many thanks Rad.
