A couple of pics of WR974 at Valance by-ways from his open day last month.
Sorry there a little off centre.

Hi,
The situation at GAM is that Peter Vallance requires planning permission to “park” the aircraft at Charlwood. The area is still in what is considered as “green belt”. He has consistantly been refused planning permission. In fact an order to remove them has been served but not acted upon. He owns all of the land and considerably more! The recent government issues on airport expansion have somehow sent the couincil into quiet mode.

I think at the moment thins are running a bit smoother… Peter Vallance has decided to open at least 2 sundays in each month, which has never been done before. Though this might just be a way of getting more money to help keep the collection where it is.
Lets hope it does stay. 🙂

10 anorak points granted Willow.:)
Nice pics Andrew, thanks for those, good to see her in such good shape despite being outdoors.
Has there been any progress with the legal side of things?I’ve heard the museum has been forced to close for a spell on more than one occasion because of problems with the ownership of the land or something of that nature.Anyone know what’s going on??

Neither! I work for (or am employed by:) ) the railway, and have done since it was all called ‘British Rail’. A situation we are hopefully going to get back to in a few years time.
However….
do I get 10 anorak points for pointing out that it is, in fact, the old British Rail symbol, not the Intercity one which featured a Swallow in flight?

Willow , It just occured to me that you have adopted the old Intertitty logo – WHY ?
Am I just opening old wounds by highlighting this or are you are true anorak ?
