According to the avi8.com forum there is a stop press in the next flypast about the Shackleton not making it over this year.

She was left in the desert and supposedly destroyed to stop reports of a ‘crashed aircraft’ but a friend was out that way last year and there are reports that she is still there so it’s remains to be seen what is left of her !

It says the it now will not be making the journey, it does not state why. So lets not all jump on the old CAA bandwagon.
As David says, I dont believe that there are too many issues with the Shackleton flying in the UK. It may be funding, who knows,
lets wait and see. I will be very dissapointed, as this was to be one of the years highlights.

I don’t think there were too many problems to do it as it’s on the N register. This applies in a similar way to the A-36 Apache which came over for Flying Legends. I think from memory you have to be very specific about what events are planned for it . It can be done as the SAAF Shackleton was on it’s way to the UK before
it’s forced landing inthe Sahara so the CAA were obviously not hostile to it appearing at displays without it beng UK registered.
It’s when you come to the question of UK certification that
you need to address a few factors but this isn’t insurmountable.

Hadn’t expect it otherwise!
