Just managed to finish off sorting out my photos from yesterday. I went with Mark L, and we gotta dirt-cheap flight across from Stansted (£17.82 return including taxes). Flights were both on time, outbound on EI-DAG and inbound on EI-DCY. EI-DAG, one of ryanair’s older 738’s, was fine. Seat pitch was normal, and we had nothing to complain about. Flight was roughly 75% full, so we got the seats we wanted.
The flight back wasn’t so pleasent. 100% full, and we noticed how the new aircraft seem to have worse seat pitch. And even when there are no seat pockets, we were crammed right in uncomfortably. Not that I can complain much, it was a good day out for an excellent price.
Shannon was better than we had expected. We were expecting just the wide-body’s that stop off before flying to DUB, and not much else. However, throughout the day we had many more things crop up (of which you’ll find photos of beneath). These included 2 biz-jets on delivery flights (one of them still in it’s bare green metal!). Also had a Hercules from the USAF, and a World Airways MD-11 carrying US troops to Europe. There were also 5 or 6 French charter movements in conjunction with some Catholic pilgrimage (as far as we could work out).
I’ll get on with the photos, but please be patient. I did warn you! Weather was pretty poor through most of the day, and atleast half these shots were taken in rain. It resulted in a very difficult process of getting a low enough shutter speed to blur out the rain, and then dodging the lense around the rain spots on the viewing gallery window!

Thanks CWBalmer, AO and EGNM!
Yes I see where you’re coming from EGNM….I was also saying how the World Airways reminds me lots of TWA.

Nice stuff, the NA livery always reminds me of the Caledonian livery before they were absorbed into the JMC Group.

Oops, I lied! Overlooked this one when I did my editing. Taken in the drizzle just as she took off, my final attempt at getting a photo with the whole plane in it.
Nice to see that Ren and I aren’t the only rain gods on here……
We did overfly Manchester, guess I picked it up off you there?

Thanks very much Grey, davforr and Lamps. I appreciate it.
We (me and Mark L) went upto STN this morning, I’ll try and post a few of those shots within the next couple of days. Mark might have a few from SNN that he wants to add too (a full frame of the World Airways?!).

Thanks everyone, always encouraging to hear feedback. Makes it worth spending about 5 hours editing them etc!
Great pics Dan, shall we be seeing them on JP.net soon? 🙂
Indeed you will. I’m just working towards my 500th now, should have it on there by next week when the current batch are screened 🙂
