I suspect that like most of us on this forum I marvel at the quality and variety of the photographic excellence that people share with us on these pages. Practical skills, state of the art equipment, a vast archive, or just a case of ‘being in the right place at the right time’ that most of us can only aspire to.
I am sure that we all respect those who earn their living at this game regarding copyright issues but be honest, we have all been guilty of a ‘right click and save as’ at one time of another.
So……..what’s on your desktop background today ?
As the darker evenings draw in I find this one most evocative at the moment.
If I remember rightly this was taken by a member of the BoBMF team that one or two on here were rather keen to get to know.
“Fancy a lift home sweetheart” . Choice of Vauxhall Astra 1.6 litre or Avro 108 litre, what is a girl to do ?? 😀

Try this
I think that if your background is black, and you change this picture onto the center of your desktop, you’ll find that maybe wonderful.

Having just had to reinstall windows on my desktop it has the boring windows screen. My laptop has a series of photos of my late father merged into one.

I have this deviant liking for (pictures of) aircraft that are withdrawn from use, set aside, put out to grass, used for parts reclamation etcetera. In general, aircraft which are past their prime, so to speak. The last couple of weeks this one is my wallpaper: Shackleton WR985 as captured by Michael Baldock, borrowed from A.net.

My desktops semm to follow a sequence. I will kepp a dsktop for a month or two and then change it. I will keep getting new desktops and changing them every day for about thre or four days then I will find one that sticks and the sequence starts agen.
Here is the one I have just now. Had it for about three weeks and no plans of changing it. Great flight deck! Just a screenshot as that was easier for me thn trying to find the shot (whitch is on airliners.net by the way)

Here’s mine. It’s an Andrewsarchus, a prehistoric mammal which featured on “Walking with Beasts” (simply the best natural history series the BBC has ever made).

Not the kind of photo most girls would choose, I have to admit :diablo:

Suitably inspiring for my current story idea… 😉

This is my standard wallpaper, showing a XV squadron Tornado flying over my home town of Donaghadee in County Down, Northern Ireland, with the Ards Peninsula, Strangford Lough and the Mourne Mountains in the background. My home is just visible beyond the nose of the aircraft. The shot is taken from a second Tornado, and I caught both on the radio a few days before on their arrival into RAF Aldergrove (aka Belfast International), and saw them scream in low overhead the house.
It’s had many admirers since it was installed last year.
