Joining fee? Why not just say it’s £1000 a share?

Because if they did they’d have to give you the grand back when you left. This way they only give you the quid.

The other thing I don’t have a warm feeling about is this:

£1000 buys you a share in the Newcastle Jet Provost Group (£1 share, £999 joining fee)

Joining fee? Why not just say it’s £1000 a share? Don’t you have to own at least 5% of the jet if it’s operated as a company and you are a shareholder? (Article 130 of the ANO)

That means G-BVEZ is only worth £20.00 :rolleyes:

I love the Jp3 and I own one, but even I can see that there is a certain amount of “putting lipstick on a pig” in the profile quoted above.

A JP3 cruises at around 180 knots, which isn’t a number that comes to mind when you see the quote 440 mph “maximum speed”.

It is significant to most people that at 180knots, the JP3 burns something like £350 of fuel an hour (around 17 lbs per minute if you prefer). It burns rather more if you push the throttle further forward and do lots of aeros.

With the demise of the Ortac syndicate in this area, Insurers are getting very sticky over low-hours PPLs jumping into jets without rather more thorough training.

I am a strong advocate, but it is worthwhile knowing exactly what you are getting into first. These things can be made to seem wonderful, until you scratch below the surface.

Training: Between 5 & 7 hours to convert onto the JP to go solo.

For a 100hr PPL!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮

I know its a very simple jet, and that it’s well within the capability of most ‘capable’ PPLers but 5 to 7 hrs for a 100hr total time pilot? Even if it took him/her say, 60 hrs to go solo, with only 40hrs P.1? What insurance deal have you got?
