RE: Sharks
Come to Kemble’s Heli-Air Day on September 1st and you will see at least 2 of those Sharks if not more.

RE: Sharks
There’s an advert in this month’s Today’s Pilot for the sale of all their Gazelles, still in the red and white team colours with sharks on the tails. So if you want one…!

RE: Sharks
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-08-02 AT 09:19Â AM (GMT)]It was cutbacks that resulted in the team being trimmed down to the “Gazelle duo” in the mid 1990’s. From that point on I don’t think I heard the Sharks name mentioned.
Bit of a shame really, living near Yeovilton they were regular visitors and used to always come up and rehearse their routines over the airfield every spring.
The cross-over break always impressed me 🙂

RE: Sharks
They effectively ceased to exist when 705 Squadron (their parent unit) ran down prior to all military helicopter pilot training being transferred to Shawbury.

RE: Sharks
I understood that they were stood down……but i don think they were disbanded, perhaps monetary restrictions.
