here are my 2 other trip reports

During the 2 weeks we were in Sharm el sheikh we decided to book an excursion to cairo for the day (it worked out to £125 pounds return each flying with egyptair which included our guide in cairo and pyramids, sphynx, egyptian musium, dinner and nile cruise)

We got up at 3am to wait for our minibus to the airport, the minibus came and we drove to the airport and went through the first sercurity checkpoint before proceeding to check in.

We checked in pretty quickly (no luggage, just hand luggage) and then lined up in what we thought was sercurity, got to the front and the guy said “card please”. We were thinking hang on, anyway it turned out we were at immigration, we then were told to get to the gate asap as our flight was going to be boarding soon so que running.:D

We got to the gate just as boarding started, we then got on the bus and were bussed to the massive egyptair 737-800 in star alliance livery.

Wendsday 17th september 08
Airline Egyptair
Flight number:126
Aircraft 737-800
Reg:SU-GCS
Seat35A

We then boarded the aircraft and for the first time on this holiday i had a window seat:D the seat configeration was 3-3, were were told the flight time would be 55 minutes. We were parked next to an AMC 737-800

We then had the safety video and then taxied to the runway and took off (and you can fell the difference when you turn in a 737 to an A319, in the 737 you feel every turn:D) we then made an turn left as we were climing, which my stomach didnt particually like:D

i took these 2 photo during the flight

We had a drinks servis on this flight and i had an orange juice, about 15 minutes after we were told to fasten our seatbelts as we were starting our desent in to cairo. We flew over the pyramids and the nile before landing.

The landing was pretty smooth, the captain used a little bit of reverse thrust and some heavy braking to ensure a fast exit from the runway so that a British airways 747 could take off behind us.

We then taxied to a stand, deboarded the aircraft and went straight through to the outsisde of the terminal where our guide was waiting for us.

I did the one day trip in June this year. We didn’t fly with Egyptair though, we flew with Air Memphis. On an MD-83, SU-BME.

The aircraft was almost falling apart, and when i found out the airline was blacklisted in some countries a few months after it didn’t really suprise me.

All good fun!

Great report mate

I was in Egypt last year, and i also did a trip to Cairo. Although ours was a 2 day trip, and that ment we had an 8 hour coach journey each way between Taba and Cairo. But it truely is a beautiful city. Nile Cruise was good? I found mine alright, my least favourite part of the trip. And, did you go in the Pyramid.

It also seems you are following my tracks, this summer i went to Bodrum. Well, Altinkum to be exact, but its the same place to me! That part of turkey is great, if you would like some recommendations on some tours, don’t hesitate to drop me a PM

Again, great report, with nice pics!

All the best
Josh
