Shaun in the City

Until May 25th, there are 50 EWE-nique and highly decorated Shaun the Sheep statues scattered around London. There are 120 statues altogether with the rest safely grazing around Bristol. In September all 120 will flock to Covent Garden before they go to auction with the proceeds going to Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity and The Grand Appeal which supports children in hospitals across the UK. There are four trails around London, Shaun’s (11 sheep), Timmy’s (7 sheep) and Shirley’s (13 sheep) which according to the map take about 40 minutes to walk each and Bitzer’s trail (14 sheep) at 1 hour 10 minutes. Three and a bit hours and I found 16. There is also a Farmers trail to find 5 lost sheep.

Nice to see,and hear what they are to be used for eventually.. One cannot help to think however, how long will it be before some mindless idiot re sprays them one night after getting a skinfull.I hope not.

What a low opinion you have have of today’s youth but nothing I have seen of them would convince me you’re wrong. Either that or some low life will start nicking them.

There was a similar Paddington Bear trail last year and as far as I’m aware, all survived unscathed.

A neighboring city did something similar with life size fiberglass Moose.
They were all painted differently by various local artists, they were sold and the money went to the local arts council.

I enquired about getting an unpainted one that I could realistically paint for the back garden…the missus loves moose, which we occasionally see in the neighborhood or area.

Hi All,
I love all these larger than life creations but like Jim wonder how long it will be before one is nicked or damaged beyond repair by the mindless element that so often blights good ideas meant to draw attention to a certain cause, didn’t they have Paddington Bear’s last year or the year before and one went for a walk never to be found ? But great to see all the same. :eagerness:

We’ve had a few similar ones around Norwich. They are great fun. We had elephants a few years ago, and gorillas last year. Our school has just acquired a dragon to decorate to go and live in, I think, Kings Lynn for a while.
