Cyprus Airways’s newest toy….
The second of the two A330-200’s leased from ILFC. Her name is Kyrenia the town at the North of Cyprus where unfortunately is occupied by the Turkish troops since 1974. She is only one month’s old. She is a beauty and a nice aircraft. I used to like A310’s, now I found my new love.. the A330-200. I flew with her on Monday 28th April 2003, coming back from Cyprus (to London Heathrow… load factor 100% – 80% been students)

Update – Won’t be on that LPA tomorrow! Just been called out LGW-EFL-GLA, nightstop, position on BA GLA-LGW tomorrow morning. Got to rush now and get my nightstop kit together, hop on my motorbike and get to LGW!

Unfortunately I have no LCA’s or PFO’s on my May roster but that may well change as our rosters seem to be quite unstable at the moment. For example, I am supposed to be on my way to TFS right now but got called out yesterday to bring an aircraft back to LGW from Lasham. Because of operational reasons we ran late which meant that I couldn’t have my minimum rest period before the TFS so they have put me on standby instead. Now if they call me out today it will interfere with my minimum rest period before my LPA tomorrow. The knock on effects can be catastrophic to your home life!
That’s a very kind offer by the way and I hope to be able to take you up on it at some time.

Im going up to LGW on Monday… hoping to see some irregular flights, with it being the Bank holiday, theres a slight possiblilty of a few different planes coming in… Im hoping this will be one of them. 😀 This has been seen at LGW on occasion, but tends to be more of a frequent visitor at LHR.

You lucky person!!!! She certainly is a lovely design and I do like the new Cyprus colours. Back in the early 80s I flew to LCA from LHR on a Cyprus Airways B720B-I think! Would that be correct?

I flew Cyprus Airways back in 1995 and thought they were a good airline, too. We flew London Gatwick to Larnaca on an A320 aircraft.

I flew Cyprus Airways back in 1977, between Heathrow and Larnaca, they are a good airline.
