Shetland Crash List – First instalment ready!

Remember me mentioning this about 3 months ago? Well my 2 weeks of leave has paid off and I’ve finally retyped the first 40 crashes (11 pages worth!) – only another 36 crashes to go!

I should perhaps make it clear, this is not “my” list, I’m just re-typing it as the photocopy I have is getting harder to read with each copying! The original researcher and author is David Hanson. I received permission from him to distribute it.

Those who PM’d me originally should have received a response from me today. If anyone else wants a copy then just send me a PM or e-mail (DeanATskypilot622.freeserve.co.uk), substituting AT for @. I’ll need your e-mail address to send it to you – unless someone can explain how to attach it to PM’s, plus it is written in MS Word format so make sure you’ll be able to read it!

I could post it here but I think it will be a bit much – unless of course you all think otherwise!

Regards, Dean Johnson

Mike they could be on the moon for all I care just that these fine boys paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom that ALL of us enjoy today and to hear that some of the fallen airmen are left like that just makes me sick!

Peter makes a very good point though… there are many things that we can learn from the Dutch, not least the respectful and dignified way in which they recover, repatriate and remember ‘our boys’.

This is really sad…
Why can’t the UK follow the good people of the Netherlands and go after and recover these aircraft and remains and ensure that the tragic victims of that terrible war are laid to rest with a full military service.
Shame on you…. England Shame on You….
