SHF A-26 Invader airborne again…sort of…

http://www.fsnordic.net/discussion/index.php?board=58;action=display;threadid=41255;start=0#msg427380

I received the following from a friend:

>>>
Hi all,

latest on the A-26 with thanx again to KyΓΆsti P. After having had ‘new’
engines fitted last week, the Invader began to lose oil from prop hub
with hot engine and exhaust resulting in extensive smoke.
It made an emergency landing at EFHK whilst on its way to EFHF yesterday
at 1802z.

I belive I saw a ground shot showing the Mustang at FL.
If it was there, did it participate in the flying display?

The 51 went for a short flight in the area on the Sunday morning. Apart from that it sat in the static park. I do believe it departed with the Dutch B-25 in the evening. Tried to find the pilot but no luck. Does anyone here know why it didn’t display?

No, she didn’t fly in the show, just a short excursion on the Sunday morning

Absolutely, trainride is about 15min. Unfortunately the wx forecast for Thursday doesn’t look too good πŸ™ Are they flying Sterling? If yes, they definately need to stretch their legs taken the infamous Sterling seat pitch into consideration πŸ˜‰

Have a nice one at Duxford. I’m not sure if N167B will make it now that she is stranded in Finland. Let’s cross our fingers.

I’m going. Time off from work this weekend and girlfriend leaving for Spain in seven hours. Guess that means I have to :diablo: within the next few hours then… πŸ˜‰ She and another girl are stopping by Kastrup for seven hours, and I’m telling them to go in to Copenhagen instead of sitting in the airport. Wouldn’t you agree?

Well done to drivers (airframe)….some very tired legs there !
I remember a very exhausted Jeff Hawke & Duane Egli in the BoB film B25 after doing the same into LTN
