Shiney Wasp!

I saw a Westland Wasp on the back of a truck last week, going along one of the motorways (can’t remember which at mo, prob M5).
It was unusual in that it was in a fetching metalic burgundy colour with gold markings and registration.
Anyone know which Wasp and from where?

Could’ve been, I’m struggling with time and location, so probably got Wasp and Scout mixed up!
It did look very good though.

Are you sure it was a Wasp as I recall seeing a Scout in those colours appearing at Popham from time to time a couple of years back?

Maybe the one that does the rounds in supermarket car parks? according to this old thread:

it is Wasp XT788/G-BMIR owned by Xray Tango Helicopter Club at Dunkeswell

Roger Smith.

I saw this one recently on the M11, still marked up in RN colours, so maybe not.

Call me a ‘Murican heretic… but my thought on seeing the thread title was “a chromed Pratt & Whitney?”. 😀
