I got to the aerojumble around 2pm also. I too noticed that most of them were packing up. Though, was my own fault… as i went down to the airport terminal first to grab a bite to eat, and get some apron pics.

Great pics to be had yesterday! The spot near the end of the runway was great. 🙂

I got there at 10 – only a few stalls fo note for me really which was a shame although there were a few nice surprises. Someone turned up with a mounting for a H2S radar – the same item I saw in the GH Flowers yard several years before!

I picked up a universal bomb rack, some nice instruments (cheap too), a 1920s primer pump and some Whitley bits which i’m very pleased with, despite their looking like scrap.

It was well worth it but I do wonder what the future holds for aerojumbles….

I was there at 8.30. The public can pay for trade entry and go in straight away but it was probably the worst one i’ve been to.

What did you think of the Aerojumble?

I agree that it’s disappointing to turn up at events like this only to find they’ve come to a premature end. It’s happened to all of us.

Yesterday’s aerojumble seemed down on attendance – both on stall holders and visitors. The business side of things usually comes to an end at about 2.30 – 3.00 p.m. anyway and many traders are packing up by then, but I agree there was an even earlier start yesterday.

My pal and I try to hang on until 4.00 p.m. before packing up but when it’s so quiet and you face a 250+ mile drive home, you are naturally anxious to get away. We decided to start packing up at 3.00 and were away by 4.00 p.m.

On a brighter note, what “finds” did people make? I acquired the Volume I A.P.s for the Sunderland III and Halifax III and we added a Warwick throttle box to add to our “cockpit collection”.

Someone turned up at the museum yesterday, asking where the Aerojumble was. It was suggested that he try Shoreham in Sussex.

What did you think of the Aerojumble?

I didn’t get there until around 2pm and some of the stalls had already closed up, I thought it was meant to go on till 4pm it wasn’t because of the weather:confused:

BTW Nice picture of the Harvard
