Shoreham Aerojumble – Sat 26 March 2011!

Its official!

The Shoreham Aerojumble is being re-launched and I am pleased to announce that the event will run at Shoreham Airport, West Sussex, on Sat 26 March 2011.

This is a “public service announcement” and I am very conscious of the advertising constraints rightly placed on forum posts. However, watch the aviation press etc (including FlyPast of course!) for further details.

Spitfire Book

This just in from the publishers with regards to “the” Spitfire book!

………”A-Eleven Publications hope to have supplies of “Spitfire Survivors – Then and Now” – Volume 1 Colour Edition on sale at Shoreham, sample copies of the Colour and Black and White Editions will be available for inspection, and ordering”………..

Another compelling reason to attend what promises to be a superb event at Shoreham on 26 March – just one week from today!!

All Biggles memorabilia now sold, including the signed Polaroid photos of Ginger and Algy, but look out for several yards of red fabric (it was nylon, wasn’t it??) from the Red Baron’s tripe-hound which I will shortly be selling on e-bay.

Or…..you could come to the event and rummage, look, find etc for yourself! Who needs internet trading?!

Following on from a communications “glitch” I am now back in operation….!

So they’ve put back that phone wire that disappeared from your bit of the world have they?

…Incidentally how’s the ebay-ing of all those genuine bracing wires from Biggles’ Sopwith Camel going?! 😀

To echo Firebex’s sentiments, an aerojumble ‘up north’ would be nice. Even though Newark isn’t all that far away really…

Lots of stallholders have asked about their tickets which will be going out Weds/Thurs this week.

Just over a week to go!

Firebex

Be pleased to help you get it off the ground, if I can!

Some of our stallholders travel goodly distances – although the fuel costs at present probably tend to be a dis-incentive.

Ok lets see your authentic paperwork to back this up, if its badly spelt with lots of corrections in tipex they may be genuine, this being the case i would like to offer £500,000 for the five? do you have one in lime green?

I’ll just get down to Halfords!

Likewise we have various bits and pieces aviation related that would do nicely for fund raisers for the Whirlwind etc.Perhaps we should organise one up here in deepest darkest northern regions of the UK ?.Anyone up for that ?.Then if so we will have to find a venue and a date later in the year ?.

I suppose the inference is that southerners are not always that easy to deal with! :dev2:

I think the truth is that many Southerners would have told him to *** off the moment he made the offer!

In a similar vein I advertised a model of a single seater race car on my website. It was a promotional model made for the car’s sponsors almost 25 years ago by Western Models who many here may know for their 1/200 aircraft range. I have only ever seen one other offered for sale and that was one I sold and the collector then sold it on later to another dealer. I happen to have 3 or 4 of them as I got them in an exchange with a good friend who has since passed away. He took them in lieu of a debt but preferred to sell plastic kits and diecasts. I thought my price was fair (£65) which was probably what the sponsor paid for them all those years ago and gave me a reasonable profit on my exchange deal.
I got an email from a “gent” saying that he owned and was restoring the real car so he wanted the model and was prepared to offer me £35 for it!
I replied stating that if he could afford to restore the real car he was almost certainly in a better financial position to be able to pay the full price than I was to offer such a big discount.
I didn’t get a reply!

Unfortunately I won’t be at Shoreham as I don’t have enough aviation stuff to sell to be able to justify the cost of the stall and travel but hope it all goes well as I appreciate the amount of work that goes into organising such events.

My letter of authentication is signed G Adlam. :p

Seriously, still very strong interest and bookings/booking enquiries are coming in thick and fast.

Lets hope for good weather, lots of people through the door and some choice interesting goodies. As regards to the latter….it is already very promising!

I am happy to report that my forms and payment have been completed and are on their way to your illustrious self. Please confirm that I will be able to purchase the original prop form K5054 as this is the main reason for my attendance.
