Hi
Very much marred by the tragic loss of pilot in Hurricane BD707 on Saturday.
Here are some pics. More will follow later.

Hi
Thanks you all for your very nice comments.
James. Yes, it is the Shoreham based Havard. The Vampire is operated by the Vampire Preservation Group and based at Bournemouth. The JP is registerd to Mark Grimshaw and the aircraft is based at North Weald.
Rob and Seafury fan. The B25 was doing one of his usual steep climbing turns. It is quite normal in his display (as you are probably aware) for the aircraft to look like it is banking over the 90 per cent verticle, perhaps he is this time. I think that the fact that he is turning away and doing this manoeuvre may make it a bit more dramatic in the pic. The time of display was just before 12pm so the sun would have been behind the crowd line to the left.
The aircraft was not overhead but he was quite high up. Even so, it is a big plane and you would have got it full frame (from top to bottom in an a frame) with a 400mm lens for most shots.
It is not necessarily easy to work out what the B25 is doing from a single image so I have posted all 11 shots I took in the pass. Here they are:

Hi SEMAE, yes can you put Rob Ant & me out of our misery? What IS going on with that B25 shot?
My best guess is he’s in a near vertical left hand turn but almost directly over you…
Great photos!

Great.
There’s something crazy about the angle on that B25 – I can’t put my finger on it, though – it clearly ISN’T inverted – because we can see the bottom – but it’s at a very strange angle – slightly behind or on the crowd line, turning to port, tightening the turn by using some elevator?? I generally don’t like underside shots, but this is one I do like – mostly because I don’t “get it”, if you see what I mean.

Great shots. Particularly like that last one of the ‘108 overhead, the pyros going off and the Spit taxiing. Very Battle of Britain-like!

Fantastic shots Martin like the BBMF shot , the RAF Hawk and the Herk and Chinook shot who owns the JP and Vampier? And is that the based Havard?
Regards
James

Great Pics. The Swift glider against this background is very unusual. Thanks for sharing.

No, the Sea Hawk (note spelling – ie not all one word; sorry, one of my gripes!)
I bow to your superior knowledge.
And thanks.
If I can save enough money, I will endeavour to get to Duxford next month.
Here’s hoping XH558 also makes it, and is invited to attend.

It’s great to see that the Seahawk is back in the air again. Is this the first time she’s been on show since the cartridge starter problems?
No, the Sea Hawk (note spelling – ie not all one word; sorry, one of my gripes!) did Guernsey last Thursday. This was the first mainland display since Culdrose in July 06. More details HERE
