Shoreham Meteor

According to the same note as relates to the Shoreham Mustang, it appears that in 1968 I saw, again at Shoreham, “a Gloster Meteor cocooned in grey outside the hangar on the edge of the airfield”. It may be that the reference to “the edge of the airfield” is to the blister hangar on the northern perimeter of the airfield (adjacent to the A27 and opposite the Sussex Pad). The only reference that I can find to a Meteor at Shoreham is the FR.9 VZ608 that F.G.Miles Ltd used for RB.108 flight trials in 1955-56. It seems unlikely that it was still there more than 12 years later but I do understand that it survived to be preserved at the museum at Winthorpe. So possibly that is what I saw. If it was not, can anyone identify the Meteor to which my cryptic 1968 note refers? A contact has mentioned to me that he recollects there being some Meteors, bound for Biafra, at Shoreham in the 1960s, but this rings no bells with me.
