Shoreham on Sunday

Having seen Spey III’s photos from saturday I was inspired to go today. Unfortunately the weather was less than perfect, very strong gusty wind (fortunately straight down the runway) and mostly grey overcast.

Given the testing conditions the display was excellent with some superb performances.

A few of my photos from today.

Thanks chaps.

I wasn’t sure if they were going to be at this years event as it was not down on the OMFC display calendar the last time I looked.

But I guess they have become an important part of the event since it started in 1998. 🙂

[QUOTE=Bradburger]
Anyone know who was flying the OMFC Spit & P51?

Thanks Bradburger,

Lee Proudfoot was in the Spitfire and Alister Kay in the P51.

The fighters will now stay at Goodwood for next weeks revival show.

Great shots Septic.

Looks like a good day out despite the lack of sun!

Anyone know who was flying the OMFC Spit & P51. Lee Proudfoot & Alistair Kay perhaps?

I was listening to the display on the airband and after their slot, the OMFC pair headed west and landed at Goodwood.

I wondered if it was due to poor weather en route to DX or they decided to pop in as I think there was some kind of event being held there this weekend.

Cheers

Heres a couple more of ‘Sally B from Above’. Glad you liked them.

These shots were taken at extreme range when the aircraft was coming across the downs. The second shot needed quite a bit of adjustment to take out speaker poles and alike.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Shoreham is a great venue with a superb backdrop, I just wish they could handle the airfield traffic a bit better, it always seems like a ‘free for all’ trying to get out.

Special mention should be given to the Yakovlevs who were superb in such difficult conditions.

Excellent photos – nice to see the ex-FRADU Hunter is looking well down there.
