Which always brightens the place up.

Maybe it was just a little streak of mischievousness coming out Mike.

I take it your remark was meant as a joke Sideslip. The Sealand actually looks as though someone at least took the time to design it. By comparison the Seamew looks as though it was cobbled together from whatever parts they could beg, borrow, steal or just happened to find lurking in a dark corner of the hangar by a bunch of people who knew very little about aerodynamics.

Sealand? Attractive??? It was ugly as sin. Now, the Seamew, that was an attractive aeroplane!;)

I think there’s one in a museum in Northern Ireland. Apart from being underpowered it was eclipsed by the Grumman products. Thinking about it that is probably the reason the Grumman products captured most of the market. Would love the chance to see a Sealand and a Piaggio 136 flying together.

Not a single one in flying condition?
By: Rosevidney1 - 9th July 2015 at 16:48
A pity it was underpowered.

“The only Shorts’ plane you could call attractive”!
What’s wrong with the flying boats, such as C Class (mentioned on another thread), Singapore, Solent, Rangoon?
You took the word right from my lips…..!

…just stumbled across this aircraft when reading old issues of Aeroplane-magazine. Since above link appears to not work anymore – would anybode be so kind and let me know where – aside of Belgrade- such aircraft can be seen?
