La Ferte Alais Airshow, France – anyone been to it??

I hear it is a very good show, a sort of Shuttleworth/Duxford equivelant…… thinking of goig , is May 29/30

But also Pratica de Mare, Italy , 30 May – supposed to be a public farewell to the ‘Hooter’ (F104!) – Anyone confirm this
Cheers

Neil
Ju52’s are indeed nice to see… best moment was at Frankfurt a few years back when all 3 Swiss and then the DLH Ju.52’s took off one after another!
Oh the sight and the sound!
Would like to do Gatow some time in the future… Saw some of the stuff that was there when still RAF Gatow… Varsity sticks in my mind – sure there was one or two more types…

Kenneth – i went to ILA Berlin show in 2002, excellent show altho we got caught in the middle of a thunderstorm so the German solo F4F & Mig29 & Tornado cancelled….i do reccomend it.
Nice to see aircraft like the JU52s.

If you get time, visit the Luftwaffe Museum at Gatow – an excellent museum at no cost (well wasn’t when i went) & if you like Migs, Sukhois etc then you’ll be in your element..

They also have Lightning F2A, Harrier GR1, German Gannet, F84s, Canberra, IL28, F104’s, T33’s, – too many to mention..

The Internationale Luftfahrtausstellung (ILA) in Berlin in May looks promising. The recently reflown Dornier DO 24-ATT is a confirmed participant, as is the new Messerschmitt M.17 replica and the Messerschmitt-Foundation’s Bf 109G-6. Persistent rumours on German boards claim a high likelihood of the Flugwerk FW190 making an appearance. Website: www.ila-berlin.de

Not unless i go via La Ferte Alais en-route to Pratica de Mare

La Ferte Alais is very good – “La Olde Wardenne”
Photographically and participation wise well worth the trip.

Have heard about the Pratica Di Mare bash but seen nothing official. I have also seen a similar event at Grossetto in October mentioned.
