You were obviously standing on one leg at the time (I’d gusss the left one). This is a common phenomenon when photos are taken on one leg.

Been a problem since the argument with the crocodile.

Yes, it’s flying on three. You can clearly see the shadow of one blade across the engine itself

Thats definatly only flying on 3 engines. The shutter speed looks more than fine! I use 250 for props that are flying and for taxiing I mess about and see how low I can get so you see the full disc. This looks really good on planes with painted props like the Tucano.

Ian,

Looking at the photo the No1 prop (fan?) does appear to be feathered – the blades are edge on to the airflow, rather than in a much flatter (fine pitch) plane like the other three.

Looks like your shutter speed was fine, but that the prop speed on no.1 was zero (or as near as makes no difference) – or at least below 160 rpm, so your shutter speed has frozen an “idling” prop….

That actually looks like they came in on three engines and No.1 was shut down because you’d never normally see that happen.

Answer to your question… Don’t shoot broken planes! 😀

Now that is weird!

If one is blurred, they will all be blurred. Was one feathered?

To make sure the prop is blurred, simply use a shutter speed of 250 s or less. Checking the Exif data of yours, you used 160 s which is fine. I can only assume the near prop was feathered!
