Shuttleworth Collection Open Workshop Day

The Shuttleworth Collection will be hosting an open workshop day. Visitors to the collection will have the chance to get behind the barriers in hangar 1 for photographic access and find out what goes on over the winter months with the collections aircraft by talking to the engineers who will be on hand to answer questions. Weather permitting, two or three of the Collections aircraft will be on show outside the shop.
The open workshop day will be held on 30th December 2012 between 10am and 4pm, normal collection admittance charge applies.

What little job might that be Mr. Jones, that you are alluding to?

It’s on a need to know basis–when you need to know, I’ll be in touch.

Strange to think that Rob, Andy and one or two others who post on here must have known each other for ten to twelve years now. The internet has an awful lot to answer for.

Happy New Year to all at OW, and here’s to a better year for the Collection than 2012 turned out to be.

I’m glad yesterday’s event at OW was a success, and I’ll be seeing you there shortly Mr Jones.

Yep I echo Mikes thoughts.. my biggest, and possibly only, regret of 2012 was not getting to see the visitors from NZ aviating…

I say Andy, steady on. People will be mistaking you for someone sociable.

Well Mr Mears.
I intend to find you a ‘little job’ somewhere on ‘God’s chosen acres’ during the coming year.
So you haven’t escaped yet….

Happy new year to you and Lord Leigh–and all here.
I shall continue to promote my favourite place shamelessly in the coming year.

Now you’re just getting personal Rob. Before long you’ll be on to the Black Country donkey and the fat Statue of Liberty.

A bit OT, I’m out of touch with OW these days. Does Pete Holloway still own and keep any aircraft there? Can’t believe the time that’s expired since I had my first and only topless flight in the Maggie there.

Yes, he has a Storch and a few other bits and pieces.

Jim.
I didn’t organise yesterday–I just helped.
Andy Preslent and the engineers were the brains behind that.

I’m happy to organise a forum meet if you want.
First show of the season–end of April.

Terrific pictures bazv!:)

And may I add, I spent some time with Baz, and he, (And all the others I met), was a very nice chap to talk to, as were the others, however, there must have been many other members that were also there that walked past me, without me knowing they were fellow members.
If Alan can get another such event organised for the Spring, I guess he will organise a place where we can meet up other members. It’s nice to be able to put a face to those that Post on the forum.
Can’t praise Alan and all the other staff for their help in organising the event, and to Phil, who took a considerable time telling me just what they had to do to get the Clerget engine in such pristine working order.
