Hi,
Had a great evening at the Shuttleworth display. The Spitfire display was one of the best I have ever seen :). Anyway here are a few pics. Some more can be seen on my site at http://www.pbase.com/brycheiniog/shuttleworth_display_19th_june
Cheers

Lovely shot of the Dove and the Lizzie looks great as a silhouette.
Chap on one of the satellite channels yesterday, apparently a retired Lizzie driver, was re-united with one. I quote, as he patted the cowling, “…great big Merlin engine..”
Stunned silence from me.

Thanks for the comments everybody. It did get a touch chilly in the end didnt it, at least the threatening rain stayed away!
And a pic of the chipmunk for you.

🙂 A really excellent selection of display items. What a contrast between the precise Chipmunk aerobatics by Chris Kelleher and the Dennybatics. Bet the Dobson engine life will prove a fraction of normal. The Hurricane and Spitfire displays were magic and those three stalwarts in the tied together formation must have shed gallons of perspiration in the gusty conditions when they flew. James Gilbert’s commentary style was great – informative with a laid back delivery. A good crowd in view of the forecast however the incipient hypothermia in mid June was a bit of a shock. Roll on summer…..!!!

Good to see the first shots from this evenings display. For those who missed the castor oil and the magic of the Merlins, to go to Kemble , here is a shot of the Hurricane taken at the first evening show.
Another polished performance by the team at Old Warden.
Rob, a nice set of photos you put up last night – now lets see your results with sun and clouds!
